ANTIVIRUS GUIDE

A guide on why our Software may be detected by your Antivirus and how to solve it.

Info

The XLabs Launcher or our game clients may be falsely flagged as Malware by your Antivirus Software. This happens because AVs work with pattern matching meaning if a certain pattern of data in our software matches the pattern in a piece of Malware the AV will flag our Software as Malware. If you aren't convinced by this feel free to check out our GitHub Repo , 100% of our Code is Open Source.

Excluding XLabs from scanning

To avoid your AV deleting XLabs related Files or preventing the Launcher from working exclude the XLabs folder in AppData from scanning. The steps below show the Process for Windows Defender, if you're not using Defender simply Google "MyAvSoftware exclude directory from scanning".

  1. Open your start menu and search for "Windows Security" then open it.
  2. Navigate to "Virus & threat protection".
  3. Below "Virus & threat protection settings" click "Manage settings".
  4. Scroll down to "Exclusions" and click "Add or remove exclusions".
  5. Click "Add an exclusion" and select "Folder" from the dropdown Menu.
  6. Type "%localappdata%/xlabs" into the file path Bar on top of the windows explorer window then hit Enter. Alternatively navigate to "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\XLabs" (you may have to enable "show hidden files and folders" in the windows explorer options).
  7. Hit "select folder" at the bottom right of the windows explorer window.
